The Billy DiMaio Foundation was created in loving memory of Billy DiMaio, who tragically lost his life in the New Orleans terror attack on January 1, 2025. Billy’s kindness, warmth, and ability to bring people together continue to inspire everything we do.
Our foundation supports individuals, families, and communities across the U.S. impacted by mass violence, helping provide care, resources, and hope in the aftermath of tragedy. Through remembrance and action, we honor Billy’s legacy by standing with those who need it most.

Second Line in the Sky is a temporary memorial and lighting installation created to honor the lives lost on January 1 and to hold space for reflection, healing, and remembrance. Suspended across the 100–300 blocks of Bourbon Street, nearly 1,000 hand-crafted flags and illuminated Second Line–inspired elements form a glowing canopy overhead—inviting visitors to pause, look upward, and remember.
