The First Annual Billy DiMaio 5K was a day we will never forget. More than 900 people came together to honor Billy’s life, legacy, and the impact he had on so many.
The course itself was deeply meaningful, beginning and ending on Billy DiMaio Blvd, the street named in his honor. Participants circled Holmdel High School, passing the lacrosse field where Billy played throughout his high school years, before winding through the same neighborhood streets he ran countless times.
Following the race, family, friends, and community members gathered together with food trucks, music, and refreshments to celebrate Billy’s life and the incredible community that continues to support his legacy.
We are incredibly grateful to the Township of Holmdel, the Holmdel Police Department, the Holmdel Fire Department, everyone who worked behind the scenes, and every person who came out to support Billy, our family, and this mission. Thank you to Holmdel High school students Adrian Shehata & Lia Cortese for volunteering their time to photograph the event.

Family and friends came together to run the Spartan Race in honor of Billy. A race that would have been his second year participating. Surrounded by an incredible community of supporters from all around, the day was filled with love, unity, and a powerful reminder of how many lives Billy touched.
He is our Spartan.
He is our strength.
He is Billy DiMaio.
